Major supporters

In the long run we would like to establish a foundation and pursue our goals within this foundation. This would enable us to be independent from the funds of the Alfred Wegener Institute and the city of Bremerhaven. Furthermore, we could expand our operations, intensify cooperation beyond the established activities and especially encourage younger children and adolescents.

The cooperation school has only very few opportunities to work closely with science or economics. Thus, young people often have to “take the plunge” after school or university, and “learn to swim quickly.” They are suddenly confronted with new, unfamiliar and difficult tasks. For many of these young people the then new employer would appreciate more practical knowledge. Lack of appropriate teaching methods and a lack of motivation to learn are equally criticized.

And yet the young people of today are the scientists or leaders of tomorrow! They will support innovations and make decisions that affect future processes in Germany, perhaps even in Europe or beyond. We want the young people to learn early how to work academically. Furthermore, we want them to take responsibility for themselves, others and the common working process. Well before graduation they should work on the “real thing”, so that students learn today what is expected from them tomorrow.
